Dear Group Members,

The topic of ayurveda and psychedelics generated a lot of

discussion. One of the members Ossi has written a very good article

regarding the illegality of psychedelics and other drugs. However

since the topic is largely unrelated to ayurveda the message was not

posted on the message board. Those interested can contact him

I am just quoting here a part of the article which has direct

reference to ayurveda. Also the idea of an ayurvedic lobby sounds

very interesting. Your comments are awaited.

 

"The natural health movement and Ayurveda are suffering from similar

narrow-mindedness. The medical lobby is tyring to ban Ayurveda and

herbal medicines for their own benefit. Promoters of Ayurveda and

natural health should build alliances with drug policy reformers. It

is not possible to ban nature. It is not possible to ban plants,

herbs and medicines. And this is what we must make the politicians

to realize."

 

"I am thinking that should we build a strong ayurvedic lobby in form

of international coalition who would make it an political issue - or

should we just keep on educating the people and wait until the time

comes, we enter into new yuga, minds of people will change and all

will be allowed."
