Guest guest
Does anyone know of any longterm adverse effects that can be caused by frequent use of gotu kola? For about 4 months now I have been making a tea of about 1/2 teaspoon per night to help with my anxiety and overall nervous system health. However, it appears that my skin has changed a bit as I've taken the herb. It hasn't been a huge change but it seems a bit more pale and leathery. I've read that gotu kola aids in the production of collagen. Yet in another place I read that gotu kola prevents the production of collagen. Any info is greatly apprectiated. -Robb
Guest guest
I believe there is a toxic level in everything. All things in moderation! I would give it a break if I were you. Jump around with nervine-sedatives; valerian, kava, (if you can get your hands on it) skullcap. There are many many more. But whatever you use should complement your constitution. Good luck with this......... Guest guest
Well the change of texture of your skin might be because of a better way of dealing with stress or other emotions on your side. Have u noticed any improvement regarding your anxiety after taking Brahmi for 4 months? Bhrajaka Pitta, which is the fire force residing in the skin, is easily disturbed by a bad dealing of stress, and hence the skin and its texture can change quickly. Otherwise you might be taken a too high dosage of this plant (are u taking extract?). You should be taking 500 mg twice a day as infusion (1 cup twice a day). No more. Brahmi works better on a low dosage and on a long term treatment. High dosage can cause itching and migraines/headaches.
