Gurmar - Gymneme sylvestre - is good for diabetes I and II. It's Snaskrit name

is Meshashringi.

It helps to regulate the sugar level in the blood because of its indirect action

on the liver, the pancreas, the surrenals and other digestives organs. It also

helps to diminish sugar craving.

It stimulates their secretions which leads undirectly to a increase production

of insuline in the pancreas.

But one should use only the leaves as the extract is not efficient for this

purpose (idem to treat hypoglicemy).

It is said that if Meshashringi is taken at the onset of a diabete II, it can

cure it.

Associated with Shilajit, it is a good combination. But one needs to have a

minimum treatment of one year, even if there are results after 1 month.

The dosage is 500 mg to 1 g of the leaves in powder form - churna - 3 times a

day.

Please ask a Vaidya for more information specific for your Prakriti and Vikriti.

diabetes type 2 can be a severe disease but relatively simply to treat

you don't need to go to India to treat this effectively, unless of

course you want to, but given the dietary emphasis upon vegetarianism

you may find that results may be more difficult to obtain

you need to stop eating refined carbohydrates of any kind

best results will be found by dramatically reducing your intake of any

carb, including flour products, potatoes and starchy vegetables, grains

and sweets - diabetes is exclusively a disease of agricultural society

- it does not exist and never has existed in pre-agricultural societies

in your diet, emphasize organic animal products and lots of organic

vegetables, especially leafy greens, garlic, ginger, seaweeds, and

antioxidant-rich fruits such as blueberries and strawberries

over a few weeks to months you should begin losing weight, and

eventually dysfunctional blood parameters will normalize

you may find that drugs like metformin can be reduced in dosage or

eliminated entirely

you might consider taking herbs such as Guduchi, Katuka, Shilajitu,

Haridra and Triphala, along with antioxidants such as alpha lipoic

acid, N-acetylcysteine, vitamins B and C, and minerals such as

magnesium, chromium, selenium, manganese, zinc and vanadium, and omega

3 fats

nonetheless, it is important you have somebody to work with, somebody

to supervise you, and there are many holistic practitioners in

Australia, for e.g. Gill Stannard in Melbourne

her is Gill's tel #

(03) 9650 3419

if you can't see her she might be able to refer you to somebody else
