Guest guest
First I would like to thank "childofdevi", the symptoms you mentioned are correct. I have started taking Triphala, plenty of water & the sleep positong you suggested. Guess the occurance has reduced, but it still does happen. Are there any foods I need to avoid or any other precautions to reduce vata so that it does not happen. Its just that mostly it has occured at late evenings when I was fortunately at home. Just scared it might happen when driving or being else where. Thanks a lot for help. Kumar.

Guest guest
Take some psyllium powder in the morning and evening 1 hour before eating anything, as the toxins need to be flushed out by providing enough roughage to the colon. Also good to eat food with lot of fibre and cooked. Avoid raw salads etc as raw foods tend to aggravate vata; avoid cold stuff, beans (this is really bad for vata), and dry foods like nuts. Sour foods are very good - eg yoghurt provided that you dont have any other problems like recurrent colds etc. Try to go on a diet of kichari made from rice and moong dal, with some raitha. Sweet and salty tastes are very good for vatas. So sweets not made from nuts, chickpeas etc are good. When the problems have subsided somewhat and there is no other health concern, then you can take ashwagandadhi lehyam which is an outstanding medicine for vatas. - Also thoroughly chew food so that it is a paste when swallowed- this when done over a period of time will by itself remove most problems - Avoid excessive sexual activities esp. sexual fantasies and thoughts throughout the day( deranged vata tends to be hypersexual); if this is very difficult to do, restrict all thoughts to a certain time of the day This is a very minor problem; with some precautions it will quicktly go away. As always it is a good idea to check with your medical practitioner periodically. -yogaman > it still does happen.
