ok, a potentially big topic, but hopefully understanding the potential

causes will assist in understanding the potential treatments

here would be my quick

1. first treatment stop the bleeding

-there are many excellent herbs to do this, e.g. arjuna, yarrow,

vasaka, shepherd's purse, notoginseng, fir bark etc.

-these all work very quickly when used properly, usually in more

frequent doses, and can often be used topically as well

-any treatment for severe hemorrhaging should be medically supervised

2. address the cause

-treat infection and local inflammation by using bitter/cooling

remedies, e.g. katuka, andrographis, goldenseal, echinacea, isatis,

baical skullcap, turmeric, guduchi etc.

-if viral or candida use the above with kapha-reducing herbs: e.g.

ginger, cardamom, pippali etc.; if definitely fungal add antifungals:

e.g. neem, pau d'arco, barberry etc

-for stagnation used ginger, prickly ash etc. and see point 5

-nutrient deficiencies: seek a professional, open-minded and honest

assessment of the diet

-for tumors/cancer seek professional help

3. restore vessel integrity

-richly colored fruits and vegetables, good fats, vits ACE,

bioflavonoids, lots of mineral-rich foods, proteins; herbs that have an

astringent but nourishing property, e.g. amla, rosehips, hibiscus etc

4. correct circulation

-get that blood oxygenated and healthy!

-exercise, deep-breathing, laughing, singing

-herbs such as ginger, prickly ash, garden angelica, rosemary etc. that

move the blood

5. AND, don't forget, the net result of chronic bleeding is a blood

deficiency

-this should always be treated, especially in children and women, only

AFTER an infection has been treated

-this includes eating iron rich foods such as prunes, figs, yams, red

meat, egg yolks, molasses, leafy green vegetables (steamed, with grated

ginger and ghee); actual medicines that contain iron (preferably in an

iron/mineral-rich herbal elixir of some sort); herbs such as

ashwagandha, dang gui, guduchi, rehmannia, nettle, yellowdock, amla,

chinese wolfberry etc.
