Guest guest
Esteemed members, Vaids, Pranaam, Vanakkam, Greetings, I am new to this group. I am from India. I am interested in Yoga, Pranayaam, and I am a Lacto Vegetarian. I have a strange problem. The problem is, my digestive system keep producing gas continuosly without any stop. If I eat, I get gas, If I dont eat, I still get gas. I tried various foods, avoided various foods, but I am not able to understand why It is like that. I dont eat spicy foods, I dont take much of dhaal ( pulses), but I take curd rice. And I am not able to breathe properly. Even if I take a complete breath, I have a shortness of breath. And if I force inhale to get a full breath, I feel a pain in my chest and shoulders. I do abdominal breathing. I have a feeling that, my gas problem and breathing problem are related. Any information please? Thanks and regards, Jai.

If you are NOT having belching, then this indicates that the bacterial flora in the large intestine is not flourishing well enough; or you are not eating enough fibre to provide roughage for quick passage of wastes through the large intestine. Try to consume probiotics; also take asafoetida(hing) which naturally nourishes intestinal flora. Also take rich fibre foods (esp. fruits), avoid vata aggravating foods such as salads, green leaves etc. Needless to say trifala before midnight is a great aid to systemic detoxification as well as a mild laxative. > > And I am not able to breathe properly. And if I force inhale to get What do you mean by shortness of breath? do you mean to say that you are rapidly breathing (upwards of 20 breaths per minute). Hyperventilation is a common problem with people who try to practice the full breath- this results in shortness of breath. The way to get around this is to time the breath(with a stop watch) as you take the full breath (take at least 5 seconds for the inhale and 5 seconds for the exhale, this should be relaxing and not a strain to do). Chest pain can also come from hyperventilation, so see if you still have chest pains when you do a slow full breath. If chest pain persists, stop breathing practice altogether and possibly consult a doctor. Pranayama can cure everything if practiced correctly; incorrect practice can give all kinds of ailments. Guest guest
HI, Thank you very much for the response. 1. The gas keeps accumulating, and does not pass either way. But The stomach is the one that keeps producing the noise, and after a prolonged accumulation, comes out as belching. There is no specific time for this. It comes after food, after waking up.... no set patterns. 2. Coming to breating, I do not breath fast. But even when I breathe deeply, I have a feeling that, I can take in some more air,...basically its something like an unsatisfied breath.. Thank you once again. With regards, Jai.
