Guest guest
I have been reading a lot of talk about Chyavan prasha & also about the Yograj & Mahayogaraj guggul. Chyavanprasha can be made by different ways , various texts explain dfferent methods of preparation , with different herbs , with or without ghee & honey. Some are with oil instead of ghee & so on. But none are with gold or silver or Makardhwaja etc. these are the proprietary formulations of these manufacturers (It doesnot mean there is someting wrong with them, its the decision of the practitioner to decide where & how to use them) Whichever company you buy from atleast see the follwoing norms are fulfilled: 1,The manufacturer is G.M.P. certified 2. Has had a long market presence in India or atleast has some credibillity in terms of the owners (they are ayurvdic physicians etc) 3. The Chyvanprasha is classical (ask for the reference whether Chrak or Sharangdhar) 4. Check for the Sugar percentage, Vit C percentage,HPTLC report for each batch so it fulfills the standard requirements. 5. Check whether made from fresh Amalaki Or Dried Amalaki. these are few basic things one should see rather then making prejudiced or rather subjective comments like this is good & this is bad etc. Now regarding the difference between Yograj Guggul & Mahayogaraj guggul Yograj guggul is the formulation for Arsha (hemorrhoids) Mahayogaraj guggul is the formulation which is made with additional bhasmas which maintain the bala (strength) which is likely to be reduced on intake of a product containing Guggul which has scraping action. Mahayogaraj gugul is used in Vata diseases because of these reasons. this formulation due to its contents becomes safe to be used even in weak patients where other guggul products can have more adverse effect in terms of lekhana (scraping) effect Regards Manish Patwardhan BAMS; MD (Ayu) Rasashastra & Bhaishajya kalpana Visiting Faculty In Various centers In Europe & Australia for Last 7 years
