Dear Friends,

Does anybody have the knowledge of preparing the mercury bhasam. I am trying to

prepare it and need ur help. There are two stages of bhasm :- First is Sthaaitva

(Stable) and second one is subliming mercury. This is the perfect bhasm of

mercury.

Kindly help me in this matter,

thanks,

Dear N C Jain,

Preaparation of mercury bhasma is no easy job.

There are a total of 18 and minimum 8 procedures which have to be

undertaken to produce mercury bhasma.

You could contact any ayurvedic college near you (if you are a vaidya

then you surely must have done the practicals in your college). I am

not too sure about good books on the subject but you could refer to

the following book listed on mlbd.com

Rasendra Sara Sangraha of Sri Gopal Krishna : Text with English

Translation,Notes & Appendixes

Dr.Ashok D.Satpute.2003

xiii,714p,gloss,index

HardBound

I am confused over this.....mercury is highly poisonous, why would anyone wish

to ingest it?? We are getting sick from eating fish who are loaded with

mercury, from pollution, toxic waste dumping into our rivers, streams and

oceans.

Before we look for the exotic stuff in Ayurveda,

it is more important to understand and follow the regular and normal diet,

exercise and foods required by your doshas, etc.........

One should spend more time getting to know the Herbs, before getting involved

with the

exotic bhasmas.

Even with the Herbs, I like what Todd said in the last e-mail about trying the

Herbs personally for a while, and recording all the signs accurately,

etc............it is obviously a tedious and time consuming process, but the

exercise is worth it.
