Fall of the sun king: professor is sacked for advocating benefits of UV

In a move that raises the ugly head of academic McCarthyism in the US, Professor

Michael Holick, Professor of Medicine, Dermatology and Biophysics at Boston

University Medical Centre, has been forced to resign from the Department of

Dermatology for publishing a book that dares to suggest that sunlight and UV(B)

are beneficial to health.
