Guest guest
I agree with Vinod, welcome back. Perhaps, a raging controversy was needed to get your input on several issues !! The other question, in drinking large amounts of water, besides your cardiac or renal conditions, ( whether the heart or the kidneys can handle such large volumes ) , is the effect on your electrolytes. Your blood levels of sodium or potassium. If you dilute your blood sodium rapidly, you can have seizures ( convulsions) , and if you dilute your blood potassium level rapidly, you can have cardiac arrhythmias ( irregular heart beats), and even asystole ( total stoppage). As Todd has mentioned, and so did I in the last mailing, one should let the body's Thirst mechanism to determine the fluid needs of the body. The flip side of that is that we do not drink much water and end up with kidney stones or other Ama related problems. As per Dr Bhate's recommendation,it may be most beneficial, if we do boil the water "daily" with ginger or other churnas, and drink small amounts , regularly , throughout the day. Another recommendation is warm water, early in the morning with ginger, lemon , fennel seeds and honey. Durgesh
