Hi,

as far as I have understood "ayu" means life and

"veda" means knowledge or perhaps knowledge of.

Are there any other way of explaining these terms?

Sanscrit usualy have a lot of diffrent meanings for

each word so I thought if this was the case here too?

best regards

kris

Dear Kris,

What you have understood is perfectly correct.

Though in Sanskrit one word can have different meanings, they always

have to be taken in context. Hence here the word "ayu" means "life"

and "ved" means "knowledge of", hence "ayurved" means "knowledge of

life".
