This is quite interesting actually. In India Rudraksha beads were considered to

belong to Lord Shiva. They were used widely for enhanced mind control,

concentration and meditation. Rudraksha Beads as per Indian tradition had

powers to cleanse all the 7 vital chakras in the human body for overall healing

of body, mind & soul. They have been widely used for thousands of years. Yogis

and general populace wore them for a variety of benefits. Yogis wore the beads

to instill deep tranquility of mind which is vital for meditation and control of

mind.

In ancient India vast amounts of vedic literature were to be studied and

memorized by students, The beads were used to instill calmness in mind for

intellectual pursuits and for mediation. Rudraksha Beads have unexplained and

amazing powers, everyone who wore them found benefits be it enhanced peace of

mind, tranquility, better health, success, prosperity and good luck. Depression

and melancholia is something the beads can tackle outright. They are also known

as worry beads. For these reasons Rudraksha Beads were considered, God Sent,

Divine and miracle in India. I got this information from my search engine.
