Guest guest
It would be a mistake to think that Ayurvedic medicines are something like beer. These substances are medicines some quite powerful. If the purpose in taking ayurvedic medicines is to balance the doshas then taking too much of them can unbalance the doshas in another direction. Shilajit - vaccha - pippali - guggulu (and many more)are not food substances they are medicines that have the ability to alter processes in the body. They can not be thought of as beverages for drinking. Why do you want to drink these medicines? Is it that you like the taste? Why? ayurveda, "childofdevi" <childofdevi> wrote: > Namaste! > > Are there are any harmful consequences if arishtams are consumed > excessively (for eg. 17 ounces of Saraswataarishtam in a single day; > the label on the bottle says 2 table-spoons per day). Guest guest
If one likes the taste of alcoholic beverages with their meals have a jigger of Draksha before meals - very tasty - and something like wine. But only in recommended amounts!

I have experimented with a infusion of brahmi, shankapuspi, jatamansi and gotu kola, and observed that if one uses about 10gm of the herbal mix, there is a noticeable improvement in brainpower immediately; this led me to believe that arishtams are not effective (maybe because of the small amount of herbs in 2 tablespoons) in small doses. BTW are you an ayurvedic doctor?? -yogaman
