Dear Dr Bhate,

I beg to differ with you on your statement that Spinal anesthetics, for

C-sections, are a cause of Obesity.

a) Pregnancy itself causes obesity

b) Number of obese women are not pregnant, and have never received a spinal

anesthetic

c) number of menopausal women have not received spinal anesthetics and yet

become obese.

d) there are number of women, who have received spinal anesthetics for regular

delivery, for c-sections, or for other surgery ,and are not obese !!!!!

It has a lot to do with your basic kapha prakriti, and amount of exercise, and

how much you stuff your face with food than just spinal anesthesia, with or

without steroids.

People in pain, do receive spinals or epidurals with steroids, but then again,

they receive a number of other medications, are generally more sedentary,

because of the pain, and do not exercise as much, again, due to pain.
