Guest guest
Deal All My mum has eczema and has had it for more then 3 years. Fortunately it is not the weeping type. However what can I give to help her. She is a vegetarian and very fussy about taking anything. Her doctor presribes steroid ointments but we live in South Africa and the sun is harsh and this leaves her with black patches. Her Dr also said that it could be the result of depression as she has lost some family members but I dont agree as I also get some eczema patches occasionally but not as severe as my moms. What can I do to help her.
Guest guest
remove flour and dairy supplement with hemp or flax meal, 2tbsp, twice daily, or as oils (incl. perilla). 5-10 g daily, to treat EFA deficiency make sure the bowels/liver are moving, e,g, triphala/trivrit, 2-3 g 1-2 x/d, and then give something to cleanse the skin, e.g. guduchi, daruharidra, turmeric, pippali the dr. may be right however, the nervous system and skin arise from the same embryonic tissues, e.g. the ectoderm thus there is a link between skin disease and emotions after a cleanse consider herbs to restore the nervous system, e.g. ashvagandha, gokshura i like the mexican herb damiana a lot for such problems, esp. in women in mexico it is the "herb of love" Caldecott

Guest guest
to my knowledge smoking tobacco has no beneficial effect upon eczema given the pronounced observed relationship between problems with lung function and skin function, smoking could be seen to make it worse theoretically, if the eczema is more based in nervous/emotional issues, the tobacco may improve symptoms only b/c it modulates nervous activity i've never seen this however On Monday, March 29, 2004, at 05:28 AM, ayurveda wrote: > Message: 2 > Sun, 28 Mar 2004 05:11:11 -0800 (PST) > matridasa <matridasa > Re: Re: Eczema > > When one has eczema, should one abstain from tobacco consumption or > has tobacco no effect on healing of an eczema? > > Caldecott phyto http://www.wrc.net/phyto
Guest guest
Namaste, Jyoti - I'm not a trained Ayurvedic practitioner, but I know something about eczema as my daughter has it and I've done a little reseatch. Three things that can help: 1) get tested for allergies. It's commonly known as an allergic reaction. I found that NAET treatment for allergy elimination healed the eczema over my daughter's ears 2) probiotics (ie, acidopholous, bifidous, etc) have been known to help. Sometimes the intestinal flora are poor. 3) EFAs. essential fatty acids are known to make a difference. You can take a formula of Omegas (Nordic Naturals is a good brand) or evening primrose oil. There was an article about this in a recent Mothering magazine. Hope this helps!
