Guest guest
IMO children should not be vegetarian b/c there is no nutritional need for it nor is vegetarianism required or emphasized in Ayurveda vegetarianism is a based on a spiritual or aesthetic philosophy, and has a relatively recent evolution in India is right that we should subject our children to a philosophy, when the bulk of evidence suggests that its harmful? it is only fully informed adults that should make this decision for themselves for children, we should give them everything they need for proper development this includes abundant proteins, cholesterol, stable fats such as saturated fats and essential PUFAs such as EPA/DHA let alone all the healthful compounds in fresh vegetables and fruit as far as vegans go, I can find no nutritional reason to support veganism nor does it have any basis in any tradition as a herbalist and Ayurvedist, I am part of a lineage that is several thousand years old - i respect tradition the best thing about a die hard vegan diet is all the healthful vegetables and fruits - but this is best supplemented with key nutrients including proteins and fats as a practitioner, I have consistently found that vegans always feel better when incorporating some animal products in their diet e.g. ghee, eggs, fish etc. - this is the only change they need to make (apart from eating too much raw food) this is based on my previous experience as a vegetarian for ten years, and who learned early on his training the the vegan diet was the healthiest i have since learned to separate fact from fiction best...
