Guest guest
Dear Members, I have a four year old son whose fevers get very high, when he has them (104/105 F). Last week, his fever was very high and he suddenly began to have convulsions. I was terrified and called 911, he was taken to the hospital and kept overnight for supervision. His fever came down subsequently and now he is back to normal. But this episode was very frightening to me. Is there any ayurvedic medication that I can give my children the next time they have a fever? Thanks in advance, Anita
Guest guest
Dear Anita, I beleive you are the same person whose parents are in Tamil Nadu. Besides getting your son by a good physician from whereever you are located you can start the following medicine for your son. The name of the medicine is "Kumar-Kalyan Rasa". Actually this is meant to be given even to healthy children upto the age of 5 as a preventive measure. It is a gold bhasma based medicine and good for preventing a host of problems in young children. For use as preventive measure the dose differs than that during illness. Also it is available in some places in powder form and in some places as tablets. Do enquire from your parents if they can get the same nad in what form. If they can, write in with the present condition of your son and doctor's remarks if any. Based on that I will be able to suggest you the dosage for the same. Cybervaidya.
Guest guest
Dear Cybervaidya, Thanks for your response. I will check the availability of 'Kumar Kalyan Rasa' from my parents in Chennai and get back you at the earliest. My son will be 5 in May (I also have two daughters - ages 6 and 10). Will it not be possible for me to give them this medicine as a preventitive measure since they have crossed the age of 5? Best wishes, Anita ayurveda, "Cybervaidya" <cybervaidya> wrote:

Guest guest
Dear Anita, Over here in India we do prescribe it till the age of 15 years. However since it is very costly we do not prescribe if there is other alternative available. However for that a personal examination is required. If price is not a factor with you you can give it to all your 3 children. The dosage will be same for those aged 5 and 6 and will be a bit more for the one aged 10 years. Guest guest
Dear Yadu, Where are you located? What medication are you presently giving your son. Though it would be more prefarable if you get him examined by a good ayurvedic doctor, you can start giving him Kumari Asav No. 3 (meant for small children), 1/2 (half) tsp. 3 times a day after meals. Many reputed companies prepare this medicine and should be available at any ayurvedic medical store. Cybervaidya
Guest guest
Dear Cybervaidya Thank you very much for your immediate reply. I am located at Bangalore. I tried allopathy, tibetan, ayurvedic type of medicines but all my effort went in vain. My son presently under allopathy medication which gave some kind of relief, but not so effective. Finally we took him to another place which is hot region and free from air pollution and my wife is staying there with him. With this he is recovering slowly. We has to come to Bangalore for study purpose but I am worried if it relapses again. Hence I requested you to suggest if any ayurvedic medicines (free from steriods - Please do not mistake me for having said like that, Since many people say so and it was and I have seen those cases) are available which gives permanent cure for this ailments. Awaiting your advice eagerly. Thanks / best regards Yadu ===== Cybervaidya. ayurveda/ Finance Tax Center - File online.
