Guest guest
Namaste! The great siddha, alchemist and ayurveda exponent Nagarjuna is supposed to have (in his student days) obtained a formula(based on herbs) that would let him fly through the air(story recounted inthe Aghora trilogy by Svaboda). However fantastic that sounds, I am wondering if there are Ayurvedic texts(in particular any of Nagarjuna's works) that give formulas for any siddhis/magical feats. I am also interested in the Ayurvedic(or Siddha) Kayakalpa therapy that is supposed to rejuvenate an old and infirm body (Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya was known to have a new set of teeth grow in his 60's after a kayakalpa procedure)- could anyone throw some light on this. -yogaman
Guest guest
Dear Yogaman, If you go through the vast literature of ayurveda than you will find many more such fascinating accounts and also formulas for the same. Whether they will work or not is upto the person who decides to investigate and act accordingly. Kayakalpa therapy is a type of Rasayan therapy. It is also called as Kuti-praveshik Rasayan. There is a lot of info available on Rasayan therapy. The one you have mentioned is the costliest of the lot and was recommended only for Kings even in those days. If you want to know the details of Kaya- Kalpa get a good English translation of Charak Samhita and go through the Rasayan chapter (the very first chapter) contained in Chikitsa Sthan.
