Guest guest
Dear all, The time when Vata predominates is commonly known to be from 2 am to 6 am, Kapha from 6 am to 10 am ...etc. I am wondering if these times are relative to sunrise or do they absolutely hold everywhere? If the sun rises at 8am, how do the times of the doshas change? -yogaman
Guest guest
The times at which various humors are active are Local Mean times. Not standard times referred to some place in that country. Our environment changes acc. to time of the day as well as seasons. The importance of seasons in ayurveda hardly needs to be reiterated. Thus Vatic disorders aggravate in winter, Pitta disorders in Sharad rutu, etc. The Kapha ccumulated during winter as a result of extra hunger and overstuffing wants to come out now during March. This is supported based on astrology-ayurveda connection also. Traditional method of casting charts uses local sunrise.
