Guest guest
Dear Chai, As you will agree with me, your son's case is a complicated one and there is very little we can help you with using the medium of this group. Since you are already giving Basti treatment, I would suggest you go in for matra-basti. Matra-basti is a form of sneha-basti which can be given daily without any side-effects. You can start initially with 20 ml. of prefarably sesame seed oil and increase the dose upto 50 ml. per day. This will definitely give more results than dashmula basti and isabgol. If you require help with the procedure do write in. Secondly for both the sacral agenesis and neurophatic bladder we can try giving a basti of meat juice (meat soup). You have mentioned you do abhyanga every two days. What oil do you use for the same. Also is it full body or only over the concerned parts. Do you know the procedure of kati-basti. I think that will be more beneficial in this case. Besides this there are many medicines which can be given for the condition. However that will require a personal examination by a trained ayurveda practioner. Where are you situated in U.K. If there is a trained ayurvedic doctor in this group who resides in the U.K., may be he/she can help you. Meanwhile if you mention the following details somebody from the group could suggest some more solution - age, treatment given so far, improvement (if any). Guest guest
What you are saying is he is missing part of his spinal column?? Can he walk?? I would think a very good world renowned Orthopedic surgeon would be in order. They may be able to fuse new bone where the others may be missing. Perhaps you could fly him to the States? Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, or Boston Children's Hospital may shed some light on this problem. I have no doubt you are suffering badly, I, as a parent can understand your emotional upset. I personally don't know enough about Auyrevda at this point in time, but I don't think there is anything other than traditional medicine to help your poor son. I wish you much success in your search for help. Bonnie

Yes I also agree that Joshua Nitai (my son) is a very difficult clinical story. Some times I do regreat not to had listened to my Guru's advices. In any case, we are very greatful to God for his love and compassion , and the lessons we have learned, at the same time I want to say that things are more stable or manageable. Regarding treatement: we are using the following: for Basti a mixture of dashamula and sesame oil. Orally for constipations one tea spoon of Isabgul seeds and husk. The later it does not seems to me very effective. Increase the dose ? Definetly we will try matra basti. Regarding infections mainly produce by catheterization, we are satisfy with the results, managing to almost eradicate them with the help of cystone pill (not daily). For Ashtma: is much under control with the help of a form of pranayama , devised by a Russian Dr. called Buteyko. I had in the past contacted on line with Dr. Kedar Shende, who gave us a valuable information, but unfortunately we lost contact , the following advise was given: AFTER GOING THROUGH JOSHUA'S REPORTS WHICH WERE VERY EXTENSIVE, I HAVE COME TO A CONCLUSION THAT T IS NOT JUST HIS ASTHI DHATU BUT ALL HIS DHATUS FROM MANSA DHATU ONWARDS WHICH HAVE BEEN AFFECTED. AND THE CASE CERTAINLY DESERVES A TOTAL CHECK UP BEFORE ANY COMMITTED ADVICE AND PRESCRIPTION CAN BE MADE. BUT STILL UNTIL SUCH A SITUATION DOES ARRIVE, AND SINCE YOU HAVE AGREED TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WOLE TREATMENT, I WOULD SUGGEST: 1. SNEHAN (OLEATION) WITH BALA TAIL OR BALA-ASHWAGANDHADI TAIL OR MAHANARAYAN TAIL IN THE LOWER BACK AREA FOLLOWED BY SWEDAN (HOT FOMENTATION). 2. I WOULD HAVE RECOMMENDED SOME SESAME OIL OR NARAYAN TAIL BASTI (ENEMAS) FOR THE TONICITY OF HIS BLADDER AND COLON MUSCLES BUT THAT CAN BE ONLY AFTER EXAMINATION OF THE PATIENT. 3. INTERNAL MEDICATION: AMAPACHAK VATI (AYURVED RASASHALA) 1 TABLET THRCE A DAY, MORNING ON AN EMPTY STOMACH AND BEFORE BOTH MEALS. -------- and my beloved Siksha guru Dr. Subodh Jagdale which unfortunatly I lost contact with him: gave me the following advice: ------ Dear Ekanth, It is nice to hear that Joshua is doing better. It is a tough task raising such a child especially when there is no help from anyone.I went through a similar situation when my younger son Shreyas was born nearly 2 years ago. Well, I agree with Dr. Shende in most of his views.Joshua indeed has a weak tone of the bladder muscles. So when urine volume becomes too heavy the bladder simply allows it to pass.To increase the muscle tone Bala tel or Bala ashwagandhadi tel or Narayan will be useful for snehan as well as for basti. 20 cc of the tel for every basti on alternate days, massage of same tel twice a day on the whole body, especially lower abdomen - the apana area, to strengthen the bladder & basti also helps the functioning of the karma indriya. If it is difficult to get the oils you can make oil from Asparagus (available) in Spain. It would work fairly well. A lot more could be done if you were in India. I am quite sure that this treatment should make much difference . It was good to hear from you again. It brought back lovely memories of the good times we had together in Koregon Park. All my love & best wishes to happily serving your little Krishna. Love. Subodh Dear Vaidya: please accept my apologies for presenting you this troubles. Hope the above information gave you a picture of the situation. Thanks again for your loving help Chai
Guest guest
Dear Bonnie: I do appreciate your information. A wise conbination of both Conventional and Traditional Ayur veda is what we are intending to achive. Don't forget that ayur veda is a wholistic approach of allopathy and homeopathy + and more than that. Regards and best wishes chai
Guest guest
Dear Chai, How are you doing with the treatment of your same. From the detials you have provided in the last e-mail it is clear that both Dr. Kedar Shende & Dr. Subodh Jagdale feel the need for personal supervision. Are you located in Spain or in UK. Besides the treatment you are giving him at present it would be more better if an trained ayurveda proffessional overlooks his treatment. If you give us the name of the city or town where you are located maybe someone on the group can guide you regarding the same. Guest guest
Sorry. Instead of " How are you doing with the treatment of your same", it should have been " How are you doing with the treatment of your son"

Instead of " How are you doing with the treatment of your > same", it should have been " How are you doing with the treatment of > your son" Dear Ciber Vaidya: I been away for two weeks in Spain, I'm back now . I'm resident in Uk Hants, but moving to Spain soon, Since the last seven years we (my wife and myself) we are working closely with allopathic Drs. and listen to their advises and complementing with my ayur vedic insight, in a sense we are living with special needs and in a sense nobody knows better than our personal circumstances, we have no other choice but to keep making prowress and remain positive, as such we are bound to understand how the doshas are changing, and spetially have a clear picture of your budget, how much you can afford, available time, and so on. As I mention before we are here to serve and make an spiritual progress, since time to time I connect with some Vaidyas and I try follow the common sense, but I'm not running here and there looking for the perfect treatment, just as a father can do, with love and respect , I use my valuable life experience, requesting permission from God within myself, just to remind you I beging my studies of traditional Ayur Veda in Calcutta in 1975,under the guidance of a powerful Vaishnava Vaidya. I did further studies in Pune in the Ayur Vedic College, alone with this valuable experience, I live with a Brazilian shamans. ( simmilar to Eastern Auyur Veda. What would you do if you live in an isolated island with no Dr. with no one arround to help ?. Perhaps we all have to do one thing, just trust God and beg for help, and develop a common sense. Are you with me? Before I forget. Allopatic Drs. Pediatritians ,are happy with the evolution of Joshua, They told me I don't know nothing about ayur Veda or Chiness medicie, but what you are doing seems to work. we keep permanently open for the blessings of Dhanvantary, and it may come at any time in any shape and any form. thanks for your interest best wishes chai
