Guest guest
I am relatively new to this group but have very much enjoyed all the information. Thank you for this especially. I have another question regarding this topic. I have recently been experiencing hemorroids and adult acne that come at the same time as menstruation. If you could address this I would be very grateful. I did a fruit and vegetable cleanse about two weeks before the start of my period which included taking triphala. It seemed to help the hemoroids and the acne to some degree. But I always look at these little things that happen as an indication to something going on inside. Any ideas as to what those could be? Hormone imbalance? Thank you again so much! And also for throwing the light on the root cause being the liver. Liver is involved herein via the portal vein. However, the ancestor clearly new this, and also the corrective detoxification role of Aloe Vera. Hence all three medicines used in Indian Pharmacy products have Aloe Vera mainly. However, let me mention that Kumari Aasav has most ingredients mentioned by you. Hence Acharya Bhavprakash recommends it even for fibroids. Perhaps they would have compared the reddish spots which appear on Aloe Vera leaves when they mature, to those in case of menstruating daughters when they attain puberty. There is similar principle in choice of every plant for specific diseases in Ayurveda. At this juncture author would like to bring out the main role of Aloe Vera as Liver detoxifier and skin cosmetic, for the benifit of members. He feels that we should stop using it as cosmetic and go for it as a medical herb to be used in healing wounds, menstrual pains, etc. The Bengalis gave the name Ghrut Kumari because the pulp in its fleshy leaves looks like a solidified ghee (Ghrutam in Sanskrit). On the other hand, Sanskrit scholars termed it `Kumari' or `Grihakanya' since its usage in limited quantity offers freshness to the skin equivalent to the one exhibited by young teenager girls. Indian philosophy treats house as `full' and complete when there is a daughter present. She makes the house full of love and affection. In the same manner `Ghrutkumari' keeps the house full of health and happiness. >From tribals to ancient Vaidyas, acharyas have used Ghrut Kumari in various other medicines as well. Its pulp is most useful on burns. Burns heal fast and do not leave any marks. The well known medicine `Aarogyavardini Ras' should be finally given a `Samput' or `Bhavna' of Fresh Neem Juice. However, some Vaidyas who still give medicines made by themselves, use `Ghrutkumari' pulp for this purpose. This makes AarogyaVardhini Ras more powerful when treating liver sluggishness or even Jaundice. The author of this mail used this modified AarogyaVardhini on a Hepatitis-C patient, who picked it up while undergoing Haemo-dialysis. He was cured in approximately a fortnight. For Jaundice patients, this Aarogyavardhini is used extensively by author and several others. The researchers at Texas University Health Science centre, San Antonio, have claimed that they are the first (in the world) to investigate systematically the nutrients and medicinal properties of Aloe Vera. They should also investigate whether Aloe Vera reduces hypertension and control blood lipids, glucose etc. While they are investigating the effect of Aloe Vera on mouse population, the Ayurveda Acharyas have termed Aloe Vera as `Rasayan' millenium ago. `Rasayan' means the `anti-ageing'. The doctors' Vitamins and Minerals Encyclopedia, published from U.K. states that the gel of Aloe Vera has anti-fungal, anti-inflamatory and anti-bacterial properties. Hence it causes rapid healing of wounds. In order to make cosmetics without side effects on skin and eyes, cosmetic companies all over world made several rabbits blind by testing the chemical based cosmetics on them. Despite the results, they were then introduced in markets in U.K., U.S. and rest of world. After several complaints, they turned to herbal Aloe Vera, introducing it in soaps, shampoos, lotions, vanishing and moisturizing creams. Since Aloe Vera gives protection both from U-V radiations of sunlight and icy cold winds, the cosmetics have become very popular. However, a fundamental question here is: should you aim at external skin deep beauty or keep your body+mind (Harmones) system in equilibrium and allow it to show its blissful happiness? With new world order emergin on the horizon, such questions have become important to our next generation. OUr heritage of ancient knowledge, forests and herbal wealth should be preseved at all costs.
