Guest guest
Deam members, Nervous system Vatic disorders in children. I am referring a case of a 25 days old female baby to the group. She was pulled out by forceps and has a step mark on the head. for first 3 days, she seemed normal. Thereafter she stopped demanding milk. Was kept in incubator for next three days, while being fed by mothers milk by a teaspoon. She pulled out through anorexia, without any medicine. >From tenth day, it was observed that she has a jerky motion of hands and feet occuring randomly, sometimes shows too much stress and as if a wave of cold passing over the body. Allopathic experts diagnosed it as possible epilepsy. CT scan revealed hypodense areas in the brain, with a recommendation of MRI for clarity. With the consent of pediatrician and parent (himself pathologist), parallel ayurvedic treatment is requested. Mother has admitted that she has taken all vitamin suppliments prescribed by Obstetrician, but could not get cow milk, pure cow ghee etc. During pregnancy, everything, incl sonography revealed normal health of both mother and foetus. I have suggested 5 drops of Brahmi Ghrutam to baby three times a day through mothers milk. And to see that mother produces enriched milk, she is given Aswagandharishta, Dashmularishta (to take care of Sutika Vata) and Brahmi Ghrutam 1 tsp twice a day. The baby is fair and beautiful and innocence in her eyes melts my heart. I request members to offer their views. Known treatment, experenced treatment in above specific case would be appreciated. Incidently, I notice a number of cases of children, reasons for their disorders are not clear. Are we spoiling our next generation ouselves? For instance, Teenage Obessity, ADHD (attention defficiency hyperactive disorder, mostly seen in teen aged children), early puberty, early menopause, Polycystic Ovarian Disorder, Premature Ovarian Failure, loss of sensory functions such as speech, vision disorders, lack of smell sense, touch sense, taste sense. In few such patients, partial success is there, but I will like to know general experiences of others. The recent post of a member reg food poisoning and later drug damage is also indicative. Though Vata should aggravate in old age, these disorders are noted in teenagers and youngstres. I attribute them to poisons in our intake (pesticide residues, pollution, through junk food etc.) Perhaps we are proceeding to the graveyard created by us only. Or this is the delayed fallout of Hiroshima Nagasaki? Or Chemical weapons are already out? Regards Dr. Bhate
Guest guest
Good point! My daughter came around at age 11 with her period. My little guy won't eat at all, unless it is junk food. He is very bright and way ahead of his classmates, in third grade. He reads on an adult level, and has what I would consider a photographic memory. He remembers everything, and tells stories ver batum!! My girl on the other hand, is growing taller, so her obesity is disappearing with height. She is carrying it much better. She, however is struggling in school, as did I, as well as my biological son. All three of us had very bad colic as babies. It gives me pause to think, there may be a connection of sorts, due to malabsorbtion at an early time in life!! Bonnie
