Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to Ayurveda but I'm enjoying the benefits so far of eating this way and I'm looking forward to learning more about this ancient science. One question for now. I understand that eating before the last meal has properly digested is bad. How do I deal with the fact that 3 1/2 hours after breakfast I'm very hungry? I'm pitta/vata (with vata and kapha imbalances) and I'm eating mostly a pitta diet. I have oatmeal (1 cup dry - cooked for 5 minutes) with a few spices and ghee for breakfast at 7:30AM and by 10:30 or 11:00 I'm REALLY hungry. I don't want to eat a big snack because then it'll throw off the time I can have lunch. I've tried an apple as a snack but it's too much sugar and doesn't even satisfy me till lunch. Is a larger breakfast a good option? Is a snack with some fat and protein a good idea? It'd have to be a small snack or I won't diget it by lunchtime. What would a good snack be? Thanks very much. Guest guest
you appear to be suffering from a reactive hypoglycemia try eating a higher protein breakfast a couple of eggs with vegetables, and if you're still hungry, a little oatmeal awhile later avoid coffee and tea try to eat higher protein/fat snacks thru out the day, e.g. unsalted/unroasted fresh hulled nuts/seeds, preservative-free jerky etc. Caldecott phyto http://www.wrc.net/phyto
Guest guest
I would love to eat a normal meal, never mind in between! I should live so long. I have a non-existent appetite. Bon
