Any amphetamine or adrenergic agent will at best promote between 5-10% weight loss, and in the process, can have several negative side-effects including palpitation, tachycardia, hypertension, restlessness, dizziness, insomnia, tremor , headache, dryness of the mouth, diarrhea, constipation, skin rashes and problems with libido. Further, the weight loss is rarely sustained b/c the effects are temporary. I say good riddance to this and all drugs including ephedra that are used to loose weight. Its time to shift the paradigm folks. there is no substitute for a sensible diet and exercise. I have consistently found that a low carb diet with all the necessary supplements (e.g. Cr, Mg, EFAs etc.) to correct the underlying metabolic dynamic to be the single best and safest approach. As an appetite suppressant try Garcinia (containing HCA - hydroxy citric acid), 0.5-1 g an hour before meals - instead of inducing sympatheticotonia (i.e. fight or flight response) HCA focuses specifically on inducing lypolysis (break down of fat). Guest guest Posted January 17, 2004 Report Share Posted January 17, 2004 Hi Omkar,My brother-in-law was perhaps 450 lbs and a diabetic,last time i saw him he was 180 and looket GREAT,I asked him how he did it and he said fish and vegetables.So I tried it myself and it works,I lost 30 lbs in 3 months,the thing to remember is lean protein,no carbohydrate(breads),no sugar.You know how to do this,you just need to make yourself do it.Also make a meal plan on paper,dont wait til you are hungry to eat.
