Guest guest
Dear raw_mango All stimulants increase particular chemicals or minerals circulating in the blood. When that ot those is missed by brain due to quitting the habit, withdrawl symptoms result. Miserable feelings, imaginary pains, cramps, indigestion and slowing down of all endocrine gland functions make one feel as if body is on holiday. To effectively quit any addiction, one has to plan well in advance. While homeopathy offers certain pills to cool down the nerves, Yoga offers pranayama and various breathing techniques. These strengthen the production of CSF (cerebro-spinal-fluid) and produces euphoria and tranquility for full day. These breathing techniques, basically from oldest Nalanda university of India, travelled to Tibet with Padmasambhava and now back to Inida and are being taught in Mumbai, Inida. In case you are from Mumbai, you can learn them through proper Guru. Their course schedule and a sample technique is available on following link. The sample technique is one of the eight different ones. However, even the one given in the link is quite powerful one. I myself practice it and find myself fresh for 12 hours of working day without a single yawn. After practicing this technique just for 10-12 weeks, quiting nicotine addiction is found easy by many in Mumbai, India. http://www.indiayogi.com/courses/bv/exercise.asp Wish you a grand success. Guest guest
Beyond breathing techniques there are a variety of remedies that are used to help wean people off of tobacco. Among the most commonly used one is Lobelia, a dipanapachana remedy that contains lobeline alkaloids that act as nicotinic receptor agonists, but also works to down regulate the number of nicotine receptors. The net effect therefore is to stimulate the nicotine receptors but over time decrease their number, thereby decreasing cravings for addiction. I often combine it with another herb called Skullcap, and use the tincture in doses of 3-20 drops, 3-6x daily. It really does work. Other helpful herbs include Avena (Milk Oats), Brahmi, Mandukaparni, Jatamansi and Ashvagandha. Nicotiana flower essence may also be helpful Caldecott, Cl.H., AHG Clinical Herbalist Wild Rose Clinic ******************************************* of Clinical Herbal Studies Wild Rose College of Natural Healing ******************************************* 400 - 1228 Kensington Rd.
