Guest guest
Sat Guru Bandhu, No retreat but some info I found this at http://www.aladhin.com/ch/health/yoga/ShankaPrakshalan.htm Shanka Prakshalan Drink two glasses of salty luke warm water. Then do the following four asanas three times each. 1. Sarpasana 2. Urdhva hasta kati vakrasan 3. Samana hasta kati chakrasan 4. Kagasana. 1. Sarpasana(cobra pose) Lie down on your stomach. Press both palms on the ground and raise the body from the ground like a serpent. Now inhale deeply and turn to the left and try to see your heels over the shoulder. Come back to the original position and exhale. Repeat the same on the right side too. 2. Urdhva hastakati vakrasan Stand up straight and raise both hands interlocking the fingers. Turn the palms upwards, keep a distance between the legs. Inhale and bend the trunk left side, return to the former position. Repeat it on the right side. 3. Samanahasta kati chakrasana Stand straight keeping a distance between the legs. Raise both the hands. Inhale deeply and twist the trunk to the left side. Come back to the original position. Repeat it on the right side. 4. Kagasan (Crow Pose) Sit down in a squatting position. Keep the hands on your knee. Press the right knee towards the ground, breath in and turn to the left and look behind. Come to the original position. Repeat it on the other side also. Benefits Helps in eliminating constipation, indigestion, piles, diabetes and disease of the stomach. Reduces the waist. These asanas id done regularly is good for slip disc, spondilities and diabetes. Commentary/response from Gurucharan "That is very close to what we learned. We squatted in crow to take in the water--2 to 4 cups, did the series, then walked in confined area (near restroom) for 5-10 minutes then repeated. Conitued until water moved through. Then rested for several hours wrapped in blankets. This was monthly for a few months and often followed up with a diet of mung beans, little yogurt to readjust intestines and finish cleansing."
