This is for girgirya !!!!!!!!

Before going into Ayurvedic theory, I have to tease you.

Girgirya in Marathi means going round and round, and you have asked the same

question in 3 different ways !!! One way , would have been fine.

But, after reading all 3 questions, I gather that you do have some long standing

digestion

problems, and that you have a Pitta Prakriti and that you also have a chronic

hair loss and that you had a "vaman " kriya in the past.

What you have not told is who made this diagnosis ? In India or in Australia ?

Who prescribed the "vaman " therapy and is this a self diagnosis and self

regulated therapy?

"Vaman" is not a usual therapy , in the West, yet, and whether you followed

somebody in India ? Did you meet this person in person, Or was this a

telephonic / e-mail diagnosis ?

This is not to say that telephonic diagnosis or by e-mail is wrong or anything,

but it is equally important to know who has made the diagnosis, before giving

prescriptions on this site.

In terms of theory, the hair and skin disease is ofcourse related more to Pitta,

but there is a distinct effect of Vata as well as Kapha. In terms of overall and

comprehensive Ayurvedic theory, you perhaps do have a chronic digestive problem,

but without knowing more about you, I would not make a judgement of whether it

is Pitta / Vata / Kapha in origin. You should see an Ayurvedic Doc, before

venturing into self directed "vaman" therapy or any other medications / herbs /

diet or anything else.

Considering your age, the least you could try is hair oils with Brahmi, Amlaki,

etc

A regular diet which has all 6 tastes, preferably freshly cooked , and eaten at

regular hours, and avoidance of late hours ( staying awake too late ) , and

eating food and drinks in moderation with regular exercise, is recommended.

To prescribe any thing else, one must see an Ayurvedic practitioner, and follow

his / her instructions.

Dear Durgesh

Girgirya indeed does mean going round and round, its my nick since i

keep orbiting between India and Australia quiet regularly.

Thank you for replying to me,

The vaman therapy was indeed prescibed by a practising Auyrvedic

doctor in pune after lengthy consultation in person in pune.

Although I cannot recall his name at this moment, he is a well

established doctor with his home clinic in Bibwe wadi, pune.

The vaman was performed in close scrutny of other doctors and the

results were indeed favourable. I did feel change in my health and

felt revitalised. My hair grew as well initially.

After around 4 months of Australian food and weather the problem

began again and this time it has become more serious than before.

I exercise regularly and am not overweight. I do have bad sleeping

habits(Sleeping late and getting up late) and that is because of

late night studying. I will indeed try to improve my sleeping habits.

In relation to digestive problems, I was suffr acidity and

constipation at times. However recently this has reduced since I am

trying to regulate my diet.

I really would appreciate some more specific advice, please feel

free to ask me specific questions.

Thank you sincerely for your time and advice.

Girish

If you are interested, send me your mailing address and I would be

willing to send you a copy of a research paper which I wrote on the

subject "Ayurvedic Treatment of Alopecia".
