Somebody suggested neti with isotonic water (about 1/4 tsp of sea salt per 125 mL of room temp. water) to irrigate the nasal cavity - a helpful idea, and you can follow this with nadi shuddha (alternate nostril breathing), and nasya with anu tailam, 2-3 drops instilled in each nostril once daily before breakfast. I also eliminate sugar, bread and dairy and find this to be helpful, and use herbal remedies to strengthen digestion, remove congestion, and help elimination. Even a simple tea of boiled fresh ginger root along after which you infuse with a generous handful of Tulasi (Holy Basil) can be helpful. Its not a difficult condition to treat but you have to be disciplined and consistent. If the problem is an allergy even still the above approaches will be helpful to reduce the overall reactivity of the mucosa. Helpful vitamins include A, C, and E, and flavonoids like quercitin that inhibit histamine release.
