Guest guest
you mean Vernonia? There are several spp of Vernonia. Kirtikar and Basu mention a Vernonia amygdalina native to Nigeria. In India the Vernonia species used include V. anthelminthica, V. cinerea, V. teres and V. roxburghii. V. anthelminthica is Kalijira and Bakshi in Hindi, and Arayajiraka and Brhatpali in Sanskrit. V. cinerea is Sahadeyi and Sadodi in Hindi, Sahadevi in Sanskrit. Sorry don't have a name for the Africa species, but I expect you are probably looking for Sahadevi (V. cinerea).
