Guest guest
Hi Henrik, It does sound like a component of your issue is related to a genitourinary tract infection. You should get a urine and sperm test to see what's going on. If it does turn out that there is an infection, there are many herbs that can be helpful, some of which may grow in your area, like Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva ursi, tincture, 40-60 drops 3-5x daily), as well as others such as Buchu (Agathosma betulina) and Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris seed, in Chinese Bai Ji Li). If you do have a chronic infection and the urine pH is low, take 1/2 tsp of sodium bicarbonate with each dose of Uva ursi to alkalinize the urine, which allows the chemical arbutin to hydrolyze into the antiseptic hydroquinone in the urinary tract. You might also want to take some vit ACE and zinc to assist in healing. As a specific to your issue, which used to be called "spermatorrhea," there are many remedies which are used, among which is another plant probably growing in your area, that of Black Willow (Salix nigra), and specifically, the Willow catkins, one generous handful decocted in a litre of water until the total volume of water is reduced to one quarter. You can add equal parts Gokshura to this for added effect. You might also consider taking vajikarana rasayanas such as powders (churnas) of Asvagandha (Withania somnifera) and Shatavari (Asparagus racemosa), 10 g each, taken with ghee and honey, twice daily. If you tummy is still causing problems there are many helpful remedies such as Hingvastak and Trikatu, or more simpler preparations such as a tea made from Ginger root, Coriander seed and Cardamom, drunk freely between meals. The inter-relationship between digestion and the sexual issue may relate to impaired pelvic circulation, which is usually a liver problem. So, some kind of bitters may be helpful, as well as an avoidance of alcohol, drugs, flour, dairy, and sugar. For swollen scrotum try soaking these tissue in very cold water, for 5-10 minutes, twice daily - this can be done by using a glass, rather than soaking the entire pelvis. Also, practice kegel exercise twice daily (http://www.wrc.net/phyto/kegel.html). btw, Ayurvedic medicine does not recommend semen retention - and in fact cautions against it. For most men it is better to ejaculate on a somewhat regular basis, more frequently in the cold winter months, and less so in summer and fall. I think your problem may be a chronic infection that has resulted in poor tone within the seminal and scrotal tissues, which has been aggravated by liver stagnation. best... > Caldecott phyto http://www.wrc.net/phyto
