Regarding Dhanatrayodashi and Dhanvantari Jayanti these are 2

different things. But both of them are celebrated on the same day.

Dhanatrayodashi is used with the reference you have mentioned and it

is on this day that merchants start the new year of their business.

However Dhanvantari Jayanti is something different and has got

nothing to do with dhan. Since the day is more commonly known as

Dhanatrayodashi it is more commonly mentioned even while refering to

Dhanvantari jayanti.
