Guest guest
My wife (46) and I (57) have recently begun re-examining our life styles, hopes, etc. I have long been interested in fitness, and particularly in Yoga and meditation, and she has recently begun training to become a Massage Therapist. We currently are truck driving instructors for a large national carrier (big orange trucks, starts with Schn....) in Dallas. I recently injured my back (herniated disk), and the first thing the therapist did was put me into Cobra position, so I asked him and my doctor if it would be okay to practice Yoga, and they both said Yes. At about the same time, my wife was injured in a traffic accident (whiplash), and went thru a round of therapy with a local Chiropractor. All of these events caused us to look at health as a way of life, and now we have realized that Yoga, Meditation, Massage, and Natural Healing techniques, Herbalism (and Belly Dancing for my Wife), have become of acute interest to us. We hope to leave our trucking jobs in the next 12 to 24 months, she to become a Massage Therapist, me to become a....? I am deeply interested in herbs and natural healing, and am preparing to take a course on herbalism, but my true desire is to practice and teach Yoga. Unfortunately, my schedule, finances, location, etc., are all in the way of my studying to become a teacher in the standard fashion...at least for a couple of years. Is there a way to learn Yoga instruction thru distance learning? I would appreciate hearing from anyone with information or advice. Thanks. I am looking forward to browsing the site and dropping in regularly. Don Baldwin
