Guest guest
Dear Yoginank
It depens on how much you wish to learn.
There are a few universities offering regular bachelor's degree in ayurveda as well as some short time diploma's.
They have special batches and programs for foriegner's.
Also there are many institute's offering private tuitions in ayurveda, though you cannot practise ayurveda in the conventional sense if you learn from there. But for personal knowledge and for grasping the basics they are good.
The main university of ayurved which is in the state of Gujrat has many special programs besides regular bachelor's degree and diploma's for foriegner's. Actually they have a web-site which used to show up in the results of search engines if you searched for Gujrat Ayurved university. But for some reason it is not showing up now. Unfortunately I had not noted down the address then. As soon as I get it I will inform you.
Meanwhile you can have some idea of the university from information kept at various other sites. Just type Gujrat Ayurved University in any search engine and follow the links.

Cybervaidya.

Guest guest
Dear yogiank,
What do you mean by only school?
Here in India in order to get admission to BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), you have to pass the 10+2 scheme according to Indian standard.
You will have to confirm from your local university whether the course you have done is on par with the 10+2 scheme or HSC in India.
Meanwhile I am trying to get more information for you.

Cybervaidya
Guest guest
Dear Cybervaidya.
By school I meant only school (10 years). For me Yoga is the main thing, and I would like to learn Ayurveda on the level that would help me in teaching Yoga, like Krishamacharya. I am not really interested in modern western medicine to study in for 2 years, and it would be nice if I could help people to restore their health, but not by using syrgery, but with more natural, sattvic methods(like herbs). I guess it would mean to help people in disbalance to further then 4th stage of disease.
What you would recommend me in this case?
Thank you. yoginank
