Increasing Libido through ayurveda remedies

The treatment adopted in ayurveda to increase libido, quality and quantity of

semen, duration of erection and to treat infertility effectively is known as

VAAJIKARANA

VAAJIKARANA THERAPY LEADS TO:

Happiness.

Good strength.

Potency to produce offspring.

Increased span of erection.

THE THERAPY:-Many preparations which increase the libido have been illustrated in Ayurveda.

Here we have selected few preparations from classical therapies illustrated by

CHARAKA, SUSHRUTA and VAGBHATA, which can be prepared at home very easily using

the ingredients that are available on kitchen shelves. The formulae to prepare

ayurvedic medicines at home will be provided in order to propagate the benefits

of Ayurvedic medicines.

INCREASE LIBIDO:-

In Ayurveda the therapy that is adopted to increase libido is called

"VAAJIKARANA". As this therapy increases the strength of a man to perform

sexual act, like a horse, it is called 'Vaajikarana'. ( 'Vaaji'=Horse.)

Vaajikaranamanvicchet purusho nityamatmawan|Thadaayattou hi dharmarthou

preetishcha yasha yevacha ||Putrasyaayatanam hyetad gunashchaite sutashrayaha |

This means "The person who takes virility therapy after rejuvenation therapy

gets offspring. Through these offspring he gains the happiness."

Ayurveda has laid much importance on a male's potency. Charaka states the use of

aphrodisiacs as mentioned in ayurvedic therapies enhances one's potency by leaps

and bounds. These medicines are said to give one the strength and potency of a

horse. These treatments are especially useful for aged people. They are said to

increase sperm count and sperm motility.

Causes for decreased Libido (According to AYURVEDA)

Having sex by compulsions with a person whom you do not like.

Anxiety and stress.

Eating spicy, salty and hot food increase pitta and destroys SHUKRA (SEMEN).

Overindulgence in sexual activities leads to SHUKRA KSHAYA (decrease in quantity of semen).

If Vajikara dravyas (Libido enhancers) are not consumed by such persons

regularly ,it may lead to CLIBYA (impotancy).

By controlling sexual urges for longer duration leads to VEERYAAVARODHA

(Obstruction of semen) and this leads to DECREASED LIBIDO.

Some acquire the impotency by birth. The treatment:-The treatment for decreased

libido can be given to persons between ages 21-70 yrs.

EGGS :-

Ingredients

Eggs of fish or Swan or peacock or hen should be fried in pure ghee. Consuming

this preparation increases libido

BLACK GRAM SWEET SOUP:-

Ingredients

Black gram

Rice

Wheat

Long pepper

Milk

Sugar

Method of preparation

Powder the ingredients from 1 - 4 after mixing them together in equal quantities

.. Fry this mixture in pure ghee. Cook the fried preparation with milk. Add

Dear Sir,

Black gram is not Chana in Hindi. It is called udid.

It is sanskrit probably called Moss. It is black.

Heavy in digesting. In Gujarat, people make VADA and

offer to Hanuman as Prasad. It is never CHanna. Pl.

Take care.

Dear Sir,

In response to Mr Shaukat's letter. There are many

pulses. i) Tur Dal ii) Mung Dal iii) Chana that too

two types a) Kabuli Chana and b) Deshi Chana and iv)

Udid dal. Among these first three have yellow color.

2nd one, mung is very light for digestion. Chana

contains lots of protin and Tur is Vatal. Now Udid

cover is black. it size is almost like Mung. But its

white inside. People makes Udid Laddu during winter

season with many other material and consume so they

can remain fir for the years. I am not sure but

Kashmiri dal also tastes like Udid dal. It is rich and

sticky but heavy for digest. I do not have its

photograph but you can imagine it is like Mung but

with black color and inside white. o.k.

Long pepper in English is called Pippali in Sanskrit and Hindi. Its botanical

name is Piper longum. Its a fruit black in colour, about centimeter long and

about 3 mm in girth.

Those who want to avoid intake of Ghee can use an equal mixture of the powders

of the following:

Kaunch seeds (Mucuna pruriens) called Cowhage in English

Ashwagandha roots (Withania somnifera) called Wintercherry in English

Shatavari tubers (Asperagus racemosus) called Asparegus in English

Gokharu fruits (Tribulus terrestris) called Small Caltrops in English

A table spoon of this mixture can be taken with milk

This subject seems strange to me - what Indian does not know the

differance between channa and urad (black gram)? Channa (called chick

peas or garbonzas in the western countries) is a type of pea and urad

which is a lentil like product have a completely different nature.

channa is a product used daily throughout the world by millions - in

Kerala we ate channa almost daily as a food. Urad is delicious but is

considered heavy and tradition advises agianst using as a daily food

article. Urad if over consumed can cause many symptoms and many yogis

advise against eating it at all - yet many yogis eat channa as a

basic food with rice and chappati. In modern terms channa is an

excellant source of protein for vegetarians.
