Hi Nancy:

I take Planetary Bacopa-Ginkgo! I have been doing so for a number of month's

now, and I do notice that I pay attention more. As far as retaining

information, which I was hoping to do.......no! Hope this helped!

Bacopa Monnieri is not Ginkgo Biloba but Gotu Kola, or Brahmi. You also find

Centella asiatica or Mandurparni. Bacopa monnieri is a best rasayana for the

mind, as Centella asiatica is best for the tissus, especially blood (rakta) and

skin (rasa). But Centella also has an effect on the the mind and is a rasayana

(rejuvenate).

Gotu Kola rejuvenates the brain, helps with the memory, is a nervous tonic,

purifies the blood et is helpful in curing any skin desease, even chronic ones.

It is also a sattvic plant (gives a calm and clear mind) and tridoshic so can be

used on its own for all constitution. Its use on the long term can help to

nullifiy the negative effects of stress.

Gotu Kola also has many minerals such as calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium,

phosphorus, aluminium and iron.

But beware as in large quantities, it can cause headache ou itching. Therefore

Gotu Kola has a better effect if taken on a small dosage over a long period of

time (500 mg twice a day with warm water over 3 or 6 months). A best way of

taking it would be as a tincture. In France you can find them in any chemist.

It might be the same in your country (?)
