"What do you see there? "Sir stars appearing in the sky." "It is not merely

the appreance of the stars. It is God composing the divine epic on the canvas of

sky!...Can you see those stars in the morning after sunrise?" "No, Sir.God

composes a great epic every evening in the sky and wipes it clean every

morning. ... It is like a child writing a poem on a slate and wiping it clean

after sometime.Does He have the desire to publish it? I was lost in the

profundity of the observation; I had

no answer to the question asked by the great poet...Gokak continued, "He writes

the glorious epic in the sky, out of sheer joy of existence...Isn't it so?"

"Yes sir, "He does not even bother whether anybody watches the celestial

beauty of His creation! Is that not so?" "Yes, sir! It is only we humans,

who want to publicize our little creation, is n't it?" "Yes, sir!" "Do you

know why?" "Kindly enlighten me, sir.It is because we have not found the

complete joy of the existence!" The loftiness of his thought and feeling

completely humbled me and I could get a glimpse of the majesty of that complete

joy. The dialog melted into the silence of nothingness. "Bharata Sindhu Rashmi

was

finally published in 1982 and the highest literary award of the country--the

Jnana Peeth award-was conferred on Dr.Gokak for this epic. Please wait for
