To get Santhosha and Shanti (happiness and peace) you must develop a

pure, unsullied mind, devoid of egoism and its brood - lust, greed,

envy, anger and hatred. For this, you must seek Sathsang (good

company), perform Sathkarma (good deeds), entertain only Sathchintana

(good thoughts) and read Sathgranthas (ennobling books). You may see a

thousand good things or listen to a thousand good words or read a

thousand good books - but, unless you put at least one teaching into

practice, the blemishes in the mirror of your heart will not be wiped

off, and the Lord cannot be reflected therein.
