Guest guest
sai ram everyone i was reading this paragraph: The World is today suffering from disorder and violence as people have lost faith in the Self. They are fostering attachment to the body, which is perishable, or the mind which is fickle. Man has to rise above the animal instinct & to express his divine potencies. after reading that i wondered about people who goes to gym to build their body. Is body building a sign of attachment to the body or a sign of looking after the body? If the body is to perish one day then why body building? Or can people body build to remain healthy and strong till their time in this world? please answer this question dear people sai ram unnikrishnan
Guest guest
Sairam. Body is an instrument, given to us to realise our own divinity, through various sadhanas achieved. A weak body is not fit for any sadhana. After many births, The individual Jiva (soul) with strong will power (vairagya), takes body(birth) which is fearless and have clarity of goal of Realising the Self, with an environemnt which it is best suited for the purpose. Strengthy body doesnot necessarily mean a Muscular/fleshy Body. A yogic body is more balanced in spiritual, mind and physical than a Gym body. So we sadhakas should keep our body free from all Dieseases (Baba says). up to that level its fine. Without the body, Realisation is not possible. We see various avathars have taken birth in Kshatriya (warrior) caste in order to uplift the society (this is my opinion). King Janaka, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Ram, our beloved lord Baba, are few of examples. Once the will power is strengthed that 'I am the Soul', Gnanis given least important to Body. Guest guest
etc. etc. We have to keep not only the Sense Organs but also the Mind and Intellect under control. All these have to be cared for in the sense they have to be kept under check and can not be allowed to behave/dictate as they like. In this sense only we need to understand the necessity to take proper care of body. Needless to mention Self-Realisation can be achieved only while living in this body and not after the Gross Body has been disintegrated and merged with the Panchabhutas. Atman is Dehatrayaateetha ie., beyond the three bodies. Swamy wants us to understand this and live in that Consciousness and not to fritter away our energies in sense pleasures.
