Guest guest
Darshan news from www..com: 15 Sep. There were no Onam celebration today even though many had prayed to Swami and there were many ‘rumours’ that perhaps there might be a celebration after all. Devotees from Kerala are quite disappointed and wondering why the celebrations were cancelled. But as we all know the ways of Lord are inscrutable. However, today morning Lord Sai Baba came to Kulwant hall to give Darshan at 8.20 a.m.Darshan time is always a 'celebration' with or without any specific festival. It is pure bliss to look at Swami and become conscious of the fact that this same Lord who is giving this morning darshan came to earth (A long long time ago) in the form of a dwarf Brahmin (priest) named Vamana. The Vamana asked for a simple gift — three paces (steps) of land — and the king Mahabali agreed to it. Sai Vishnu in the guise of Vamana then increased his stature and with the first step covered the sky, blotting out the stars, and with the second, straddled the netherworld. Realising that Vamana's third step will destroy the earth; Mahabali offered his head as the last step. Vishnu's fatal third step pushed him to the netherworld, but before banishing him to the underworld Vishnu granted him a boon. Since he was attached to his kingdom and his people, he was allowed to return once a year from exile. Onam is the celebration that marks the homecoming of King Mahabali. Also, the Lord’s foot salvaged and released the king from the recurrent cycle of birth and death. That is why Onam is celebrated by wearing new clothes and resolving to lead a new life of truth, godliness, love, and humility. Perhaps this year Swami’s wants us to celebrate Onam silently in our spiritual heart without the outward fanfare. Happy Onam everyone!Acknowledgement- Vamana avatar picture(right) courtesy: Bhaktivedanta Book Trust -- International Inc. 1995-2003 Source: www..com Attachment: (image/jpeg) sai_darshan_onam_2005.jpg [not stored] Attachment: (image/jpeg) vm_2005.jpg [not stored]
