A FEW PRECIOUS MOMENTS WITH THE GREAT STALWART OF THE 20th CENTURY

Below are the expressions and golden thoughts of Pujya Gurudev Swami

Chinmayanadaji, AN INSTITUTION IN HIMSELF, which I have tried to recollect

sharing with you. Swami Tejomayanandaji, the Head of Chinmaya Mission was in

Dubai accompanied with Swami Swaroopananda on way to

Kenya, for three days from 5th to 7th March 2004, where He gave a very profound

and lucid talk on VISION of Gita, comprising of 700 Slokas, for a common man

like us.

"YOU ARE THE PROBLEM AND YOU ARE THE SOLUTION."

Oh Seeker! Intelligent Fellow Traveler,

Just as the shape of the Temple does not affect the Towering Sky, the

crookedness of the physical body has no effect on the Atma (Soul). A wise man

has Atma-drsti i.e. he looks at the Reality behind this manifested world,

whereas an ignorant or the common man has Carma-drsti i.e. he gets lost in

names, forms and materialistic world, thereby looses its own identity.

 

Renunciation is not mere giving up of possession, or sudden cutting away from

all relationships of the world. But true renunciation or detachment is in

withdrawing oneself from our equipments of perception by meditation &;

experience the Infinite of the self as our real nature. Attachment gurgles

forth from Ignorance and renunciation flows from Knowledge.

                      

Aspire for liberation, reject the objects of the senses as poison and seek

forgiveness, straightforwardness, kindness, cheerfulness &; truth as nectar.

 

You are neither earth, nor water, nor fire, nor air, nor space. To attain the

infinite know the Self as the witness of all these - the embodiment of Pure

Consciousness itself.

 

The Self is Ever-free; therefore, it needs no meditation. So long you

are meditating, there is still traces of the ego in us.

 

The material cause of a thing must pervade the thing made out of it. Mud, the

cause, pervades the entire pot, eke out of the mud.

 

The Self, the Consciousness, from which the world gets protected, must

necessarily pervade the entire Universe. Though the universe exists in You, but

You are not involved in, for as the Infinite Self, really, by nature, You are

pure Consciousness. In Consciousness the 'subject and object' get woven as the

wrap and woof of the magnificent tapestry of the universe.

 

Do not give way to petty mindedness. To love, feeling and acting as the

limited-ego, is unbecoming to Your Divine &; Infinite True Nature. There is

nothing greater than your essential spiritual being.

 

The highest prayer in this world is service; the greatest devotion is loving the

people around us: and the noblest character trait is divine compassion for all

living creatures.

 

Social responsibility does not end with giving away in charity but the charity

should be accompanied by investment of time &; energy to improving the quality

of life of entire humanity. Spread the fragrance of Love, Affection, Devotion

and Dedication in all your daily actions and there will be glow around you of

satisfaction, happiness &; contentment.

 

Life is too short; SMILE! Nothing is Lost
