SAI-BENEFACTOR OF THE DEVOUT

 

1. "POSSESSIONS" I COVETED, to Earn "ENLIGHTENMENT”, "POSSESSIONS" I

Got, but NOT the "ENLIGHTENMENT”.,

"ATTACHMENT" I developed, Allowed "INTELLECT’ to rule "SUPREME".,

How, Now shall I Remember and sing THY "PRAISE" ?

Reach and RE-JOIN THEE ? O! SAI the BENEFACTOR of the DEVOUT,

 

2. HAUNTED by sinful Actions, ENFEEBLED by "Senses";

TRAPPED within the Body’, 'Mind’ ORPHANED.,

BEREFT of Sympathy and love, Engulfed by GREED.,

ENSLAVED by LUST, MISTRUST; HARASSED by sickness and sorrows., Gained RICHES

but became a MISER.,

A 'CURSE’ to the Family and Friends.,

O! My SAVIOUR, O! SAI the BENEFACTOR of the DEVOUT,

 

3. Without an ATOM of PIETY, without a SPECK of VIRTUE.,

Lone, Alone, Forlorn, Orphaned; Despised by the KIN, Derided by ALL.,

PELE and POMP, WEALTH and MIGHT, Worthless ALL.,

With Advancing Age, Withering Body;

Each DAY becoming a WRITHING AGONY;

WHO Else but THEE shall be my SAVIOUR ?,

O! SAI the BENEFACTOR of the DEVOUT,

 

4. When COLD, COUGH, FLATULENCE gnow my Body;

SENSES and ORGANS Start losing Control.,

Mine Eyes unable to, see THY Holy Form,

Mine Ears deaf to hear THY Holy PRAISE,

Unable to chant' cause of PARALYSIS, THY Holy Name,

Having lost all DESIRES of WEALTH and LIFE;

When "SOUL's SWAN" shuns the Body and gets ready to fly;

When Heirs begin to Quarrel for the DIVISION of Wealth.,

When slow, sudden or Accidental 'Death’ lurking to pounce.,

Who else shall be my 'SAVIOUR' other than THEE?

O! SAI the BENEFACTOR of the DEVOUT,

 

5. Like the "Fly" stuck to the sweet sugary Jelly,

Like a "FROG" enmouthed by a venomous SNAKE,

Me, like - wise, when ensnared and wriggling to get FREE,

THOU alone shall surely cometh to rescue, to Bless and grant 'ME1

ETERNAL DELIVERENCE., O! SAI the BENEFACTOR of the DEVOUT,

 

6. Like the SKY - LARK in Flight LONGING to meet the moon,

Like the NAGA - SNAKE Nestling among Fragrant "MOGLI(1) PLANTS"

Like "HANUMAN" the Apostle of DEVOTION, embraced by Immortal "RAMA"

Like wise O! My LORD, my SAVIOUR., Brace me, embrace me.,

ENDOW me with PEACE, SERENITY, EQUANIMITY and LIBERATION.,

To enable my soul to reach and embrace,

THY ever "SACRED"' LOTUS - FEET".,

In this Birth, in the Next Birth and in several succeeding Births.,

O! The OCEAN of KINDNESS, PINNACLE of PERFECTION.,

O! HEAVEN of COMPASSION, O! SAI the BENEFACTOR of the DEVOUT,

O! the SAI of SHIRIDI.
