One Ganpat Dhondu Kadam was a devotee of Baba. Once he

proceeded to see Baba with his family. After his train

had left Nasik for Manmad, a band of Bhil robbers got

in ihe train. Kadam was reading a religious

prayer-book. But soon he noticed that the Bhil robbers

jumped out of the train all of a sudden. Kadam turned

round and saw that a faqir with a lathi in hand was

standing behind him. Instantly he disappeared. Kadam

went to Shirdi when Baba's inquiries convinced Kadam

that the faqir was Baba himself.
