Guest guest
Im sharing the second part of my mother Shrimati Bharati's experiences. Continued from My mother’s experiences with SAI posted last Friday. On my return to Hyderabad –after some months, I had an idea. The Akshintas (Akshatas) of Sai, were then put in small silver ‘Sai’ pendants and distributed among a few friends and relatives. The rest of them are kept in a small box which I carry with me. My first trip to Shirdi is very memorable to me for the incidents which show the Munificence and Magnificence of Sai. How Man (Woman) Proposes and Sai Disposes. 1) As I said already, I wanted to utilize the holiday of 18.7.97 for Shirdi trip to save on official leave. Baba didn’t agree. We reached Shirdi on Guru Purnima Day only (20.7.97). 2) My husband insisted on getting confirmation of accommodation at Shirdi before starting otherwise the ‘all ladies trip’ was not allowed. I confirmed accommodation without timings and we left for Shirdi. (The guest room was allotted to us only @ 4 in the evening) whereas our bus reaches Shirdi early morning. 3) We waited at the bus stop on 19.7.97 for 1 hour but no bus came. On enquiry, we were advised to immediately alight the bus at the starting point about 4 kms away. However when we reached there, the bus had already started. Then we really chased the bus in the heavy traffic and caught up with it after 8 kms or so. Baba was telling us that Shirdi trip is not just plain sailing. We were made to go round and round. 4) No sooner we heard that the bus started without us – I told Baba ‘The sweets for you are with us and how you will get them is upto you Sir’. (He got it through us only). 5) On reaching Shirdi in the morning, we went to the same guest house, hoping the manager might help us. As there was no room he offered his office room to keep the luggage etc. As we were talking to him, a small boy of about 10 or 11 years came to us and enquired about accommodation. He took us to a nearby house where the land lady offered a room upto 4 pm only in the ground floor. But she was very kind to us. She prepared hot water for our bath and accommodated us in her own house in the 1st floor, offering tea etc. Is it not the chamatkar of Baba who provides everything for everyone? 6) 2nd day –After Sai’s darshan, we went by jeep for Nasik/ Triambak trip. It was late in the evening to start back. The driver threatened to leave the ladies ( 3 of us) and start back for Shirdi without us as one of my friends had not returned from Gomukh trip atop the hill. We asked him to wait for 10 minutes then closed our eyes and prayed to Baba. Lo! There she was seen coming running to us, the very next minute. 7) 3rd day was the great Akshinta Day in the morning. Later for the afternoon Arti – we were standing at the farthest end of the Main Hall. Wonder of wonders I just kept seeing ‘Ganesha’ (just like in the Secunderabad Temple) , in place of Sai. I was literally shouting ‘Ganesha’ –who happens to be my favorite God. I was thrilled. 8) Then it was time for us to return home on the 3rd day. The bus was not at the prescribed stop- we were told that it had been parked in a field and we rushed there. Much to our dismay our seats was already occupied by others- with the same seat nos. Only after some hassle it was settled and we were given other seats. The driver was fined for wrong parking. No wonder Shri Sai was watching all this. 9) After reaching Hyderabad, I had fever. Now I know for sure that I haven’t sought Sai’s permission to return. I now make it a point to bid adieu to Sai and also for Punar Darshan at the earliest. To be continued..
