Blessed Sai devotee- Laxmibai Shinde...

Laxmibai Shinde was one of Baba's very close devotees and was the only woman who

was allowed into the mosque when the curtain was down. This curtain acted like a

door and screened the upper part of the mosque. She was an illiterate village

woman of middle age and was an ardent devotee of Baba. Baba always very

affectionately ‘demanded’ food prepared by her (Bhakri Bread) by saying,’

Laksmi I am very hungry. Please give me bread prepared by you. Laxmi did this

service to Baba (Annadan). Baba was highly grateful to her and showed His

grace and gratitude to Laxmi till the last moment before His Samadhi ..On

Vijaya Dashmi (Dasara) i.e.,15-10-1918 -Just before BABA crossed the border of

line put his hand in pocket and before leaving the body gave Rs.5/- and then

Rs.4/- in all Rs. 9/- Laxmi’s contribution in Sai movement is significant in

the sense that – Baba’s mission was to impart knowledge about the nine

dimensional devotional service to God. Baba assured His devotees

that out of these nine methods of showing devotion to God, even if a devotee

practices one, it will lead to God – Realization...

 

In Shri Sai Satcharitha the significance of Nine is three fold.Once a merchant

came to SHIRDI. Before, him, the Mare passed Nine Balls of stool. He got peace

of mind by gathering all the Nine balls in his Dhotar. Mr. Patankar who came to

SHIRDI to have the Darshan of BABA asked Ganesh Damodar alias Dada Kelkar what

BABA means , the later replied that the Mare is GOD's grace and the Nine balls

excreted are the nine forms of Bhakti viz., 1. Shravana (Hearing), 2. Kirtana

(Praying), 3. Smarana(remembering), 4. Padasevana (restoring of feet), 5.

Archana (Worship), 6. Nimaskara (bowing), 7. Dasya(Service) 8. Sakhyatva

(friendship), 9. Atmanivedana (Surrender of the self). If these are

devotionally followed, Lord Hari will be pleased and manife­sts himself in the

home of a Devotee,"If Nine forms of Bhakti are followed devotionally GOD

manifests Himself in the home of a Devotee-

ParambramhaTashmai Shri Gurur Veh Namah"May the Merciful Sri Sai Baba always

shower His grace on us and our families and remove our problems and anxieties
