Here is a perfect example- Do u know why when people do yoga they use the word AUM OR OM????- Besides the spiriitual reason and that the utterance of aum produces a sense of sacredness. There is also a scintific reason behind using the sacred word OM while doing yoga or practicing meditation.. When one says the word OM taking a deep breadth , all the muscels in our mouth move and make a certain vibration in our nerves which results in calming our mind and relaxing our body thus giving us the emotions of peace ........ Now when we have negative feelings in us such as hatred, worry, stress, tension, envy, jealousy , greed, lust , selfishness,anger, etc etc these feelings also make a certain vibration in our nervous system thus resulting in depression, blood pressure, diabieties, heart trouble, stomach ulcers etc etc. Anger does not help us to slove the problem at hand, but robs us of our sleep, appetite and make us unable to appreciate the good things we have in life..Jealousy gives rise to insecurity which will result in anxiety disorders..Worries will eat u up inside and give u ulcers...Life is so short and these negative feelings can harm our health tremendously...We therefore need to improve on our attitude and quality of life.......However, What is meant by the quality of life? Does it mean a beautiful bunglow , television in every room, a BMW in the garage, private schools for the children, the latest fashion in clothes, name ,fame, bank balance etc-etc.? or does it simply mean a high standard of health which allows you to do and enjoy the things you want to do? Just think even if u have all the riches of the world in ur life but u do not have a good health to enjoy it..What good is that wealth of to you??? One should aim at being relaxed, not over-tired, full of energy, feeling calm and not overwrought or worried by the day-to-day happenings, and being without pain or physical discomfort.What good will the negative feelings such as greed and selfishness do??You can not take anything with you when you die anyway... Count your blessings.The number of blessings will definetly be more than the worries in your life..If you can not sleep because of your tensions-- One of the best sleep-producing agents is PRAYER. This is partly because of the concentration on the prayer to the extent that worries disappear. If you do not like the idea of prayer, then concentrate on some PLEASANT event that has happened, or is about to happen, and consciously relax all your muscles, one by one, from your toes to the top of your head. Exercise if necessary, get yourself so physically tired you can't stay awake.The mind and nerves cannot relax while the muscles are tense so a conscious relaxation of the muscles helps relax the mind.Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday - and it has not turned out so bad after all! When faced with a problem: 1. get the facts. A problem well stated is a problem half solved. 2. analyse the facts. 3. arrive at a decision and then act on that decision. or ask yourself what am I worrying about? what can I do about it? what is the CAUSE of the problem? what are the possible solutions to the problem? YOU -YOURSELF WILL BE ABLE TO SLOVE YOUR OWN PROBLEM THEN..... One remedy for worry is also to get completely occupied doing something constructive, mentally or physically. KEEP BUSY.It is physically impossible to remain depressed while you are acting out the symptoms of being radiantly happy.Think and act cheerfully - and you will feel cheerful.We seldom think of what we have but always of what we lack..Our Mind in itself, can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven" Ofcourse there are other things to that can greatly influence on our health -such as smoking, alcohol, exercise,obesity , malnutrition etc etc ..But that is a whole different topic ...
