Guest guest
DEEPAVALI MESSAGE "It is to be noted here that doubts and difficulties surround us just to move us and confirm our faith. We are tested as it were." – Sri Sai Satcharitra, Ch. XXIX. "Why do good people suffer?" Sri Rama suffered, Lakshman suffered, so did Sita. After fourteen years of exile they could celebrate Deepavali. This happened thousands of years ago, we continue to celebrate it till today. If there had been no exile, there would have been no celebration. Year after year, the Deepavali returns with the message: Except you suffer, you cannot celebrate. We pray for strength: and God sends us suffering to make us strong. We pray for wisdom: God sends us problems. We pray for help when our foundations are shaking. And we find that it is God who is shaking them. Gold is purified by being passed through the fire. Man is ennobled, enriched, purified by being passed through the fire of suffering. Nasrudin addressed a large crowd of men and asked them: "Do you want riches without effort, holiness without austerity, attainment without hard work and progress without struggle?" They all shouted: "Yes!" "Wonderful!" said nasrudin, "I do also, and if I ever find out how to do it, I’ll be thrilled to let you know." The dumb. Deaf, blind teacher of humanity, Helen Keller, said: "I thank God for all my handicaps, for through them, I have found myself, my work and my God." "Man does not generally think of God, but when difficulties and calamities overtake him, he turns to Him" – Sri Sai Satcharitra, Ch. XVIII & XIX. Check out the new Front Page. www.
