Guest guest
THE SELF Baba said, "As long as the body remains, samsara remains. None escapes it. How can you? Even I am caught up in it. By going away to a forest you cannot escape samsara. Your present condition, has been brought about by your self. What is the use of irritation at it?" in Baba’s Charters and Sayings #113 There is a revealing story of a monk living in the Egyptian desert who was so tormented by temptation that he could not bear it no longer. So he decided to abandon his cell and go somewhere else. As he was putting on his sandals to carry out his resolve he saw another monk not far from where he stood who was also putting his sandals on. "Who are you?" he asked the stranger. "I am your self", was the reply, "If it is on my account that you are leaving this place, I would have you know that no matter where you go I shall go with you." Both what you runaway from – and what you yearn for – is within you! THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your wealth will remain on earth; your cattle will remain in the stables, Your wife will come till the entrance door, your relatives and friends will come till the cremation ground, your body will accompany you till the funeral pyre, but on the way beyond this life only your Karmas will accompany you. Dhanaani Bhoomau Pashvascha GoshtheBharyaa Gruh Dwaare Swajan SmashaaneDehschitaayaam ParlokmaargeKarmaanu Go Gacchati Jeev Ek Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya .... As per Bhagawad Gita, despite all our wrong doings we still had hope to reform ourselves. The sinner of today, is the saint of tomorrow. According to Lord Krishna, every sinner can become a saint. For this the person has to first realize his sin, confess it to God and ask for His forgiveness. Repentance and doing good to pay for his wrongdoings can take a person on the right path. It is never too late for a person to turn over a new leaf. With sincere effort and the grace of God, lives can be transformed. Every person has strength in him. This strength has to be used in the right direction. Everyday spend some time in silence and repeat the Holy Name of God. God has many Names. You may select the name that you like. All the names belong to Him who is the Nameless one. For the name of God is The Greatest Cleanser. We clean our bodies daily but our minds also need to be cleansed of anger, envy, pride etc. vote. - Register online to vote today!
