Guest guest
It is the conviction of many who are worshippers of Sai Baba of Shirdi that He is Sri Krishna reincarnated to lead mankind in the path of knowledge and salvation. Even as Sri Krishna preached the immortal Geeta to the world through the medium of Arjuna, Sai Baba of Shirdi preached His Geeta to the world through his various sayings addressed to His devotees. Any reader of "Sri Sai Sat Charita" of Hemadpant will be acquainted with the numerous utterances of Baba with the same meaning or import or wave length of the utterances of Sri Krishna in His Geeta. If liberty of _expression is allowed Baba's Geeta is simpler to understand and assimilate by the common man in comparison with Sri Krishna's Geeta. Similarly some of the actions of Sri Baba of Shirdi are grand or sublime even as those of Sri Krishna. One of the most spiritually elevating episodes in the Mahabharata is the blowing of the breath of life by Sri Krishna in Uttara's still born babe and thus nullify the curse of Aswathama to wipe out the Pandava race from the earth. In consternation it is that Kunti Devi appeals to Sri Krishna and true to His word given when Aswathama uttered his terrible curse Sri Krishna takes the lifeless babe in his hands and with His wonderful yogic power breathes life into it, following which He Himself becomes limp with exhaustion but to recover to his true form of course subsequently. Now let us look at the episode in S.S.D.Nimonkar's life. An ardent devotee of Sai Baba that he was, he once visited Shirdi to do his obeisance of Baba on his way from Poona to Nimon where his brother's wife was expecting her confinement. Look at Baba's words at the leave taking "save the child's life" addressed to Nimonkar while giving His "Udi" to him. What was the sight that greeted Nimonkar at Nimon? It was the cold and chill babe just delivered of his brother's wife and considered as dead or lifeless. Nimonkar searched for the all powerful "Udi" of Sai Baba in him and not finding it simply took the babe in his lap and prayed fervently to his deity of Shirdi and in a few minutes the almost dead babe sprang into life. Sri Krishna as god breathed life into the babe Parikshit by His yogic power. Sri Sai Baba of Shirdi similarly gave life to the babe of Nimonkar's brother's wife by the thaumaturgic power of a prayer to Him. Endless are the miracles or "Leelas" of Baba of Shirdi and it is a thrill that one experiences inrecounting such "Leelas" (Adopted from Book "A Century of Poems on Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi by ProfC.R.Narayana) Arun Reddy Nukala +44 7946 595063 http://groups.msn.com/ ALL-NEW Messenger - all new features - even more fun!
