Guest guest
THANK GOD FOR YOUR PRESENT STATUS Whatever is bestowed on him by God, must be good. (Sri Sai Satcharitra Ch.XX) Once a Sadhu was passing through a lane in the city. Unfortunately for him the garbage, which a woman threw out of the window of her house, landed on his person. The holy man merely looked up and, instead of reprimanding the woman for her carelessness, began singing the praise of God. When the by-standers saw this, they were not only greatly annoyed by the negligence on the part of the woman, but were also surprised to find the Sadhu chanting the Name of God. One of them made bold to ask him: "Maharaj, is this your prayer time? Look at your person – smeared with meal leftovers thrown by the woman. Why don’t you curse her?" the holy one, cool and calm, commented: "Why should I curse her? O, Brother! Am I not lucky to escape with this only? Instead, suppose the lightning had struck me or a house wall collapsed on me! That’s why, I am praying to God to thank Him for being so kind as to save me from such graver accidents. God is very kind and He doesn’t harm anybody. Even though we at times feel that He us unkind to us, it is never so. Hence whatever He does, he does for our good alone."
