ORIGIN OF GREAT THINGS

What are you thinking of? Go on, strike!

(Sri Sai Satcharitra Chapter XXIII)

A man was taking a morning walk on the beach. He noticed that the morning tide

brought in hundreds of starfish and when the tide receded, they were left

behind and with the morning rays of the sun, they would die.

The man took a few steps, picked one up and threw it into the water. He did that

repeatedly. Right behind him there was another person who couldn’t understand

what this man was doing. He caught up with him and asked, "What are you doing?

There are hundreds of starfish. How many can you help? What difference does it

make?" the man did not reply. He took two more steps, picked up another one,

threw it into the water, and said, "It makes a difference to this one."

It is the little drops that make a mighty ocean; little acts of kindness add up to a mighty deed.

Mother Teresa said, "We can do no great things, only small things with great love."
